A silent auction will take place at 7 p.m. on Nov. 1, at the NYM Regional Cultural Center and all of the proceeds will benefit the New York Mills Public Library.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library group, which raises funds throughout the year to support the local library.

In the past the group has purchased bookshelves and furniture for the library, sponsored events such as Trivia Night, Bingo for Books, Lego Club, and the formerly annual book sale, as well as covering funds for trips, including all remaining costs for the recent bus trip to Duluth.

Bidding will start at 7 p.m. and will end at 8:15 p.m. Refreshments will be served and there will be time and tables for fellowship and conversation.

Raffle tickets will also be available and prizes include local gift cards, bottles of wine made locally by Denise Peltier and Shelley Wessels, as well as two quilts from the St. Peter’s Piecemakers and from Sharon Imsande and Linda Menze.
