Agnes Kathryn (Langer) Geiser, age 94, of Wadena, passed away on November 25, 2025, at The Meadows of Wadena. Funeral Mass was held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bluffton. Agnes was laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Bluffton.

Agnes was born on August 24, 1931, in Bluffton, to Joseph and Olivia (Zahler) Langer. She was raised along with her brothers and sisters on the family farm. She attended St. John the Baptist Parochial School until the 8th grade and graduated from St. Francis High School in Little Falls, Minn. in 1949. Following her graduation, she worked with her dad for the Bluffton Mutual Insurance Company. On June 8, 1953, she married Richard Charles Geiser at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bluffton. Richard and Agnes made their home in Bluffton and raised 13 children together on the family farm. The two did not do much without each other. They enjoyed dancing to polkas and waltzes and playing cards with friends and neighbors. She was blessed to remain on the farm until 91 years of age.

Agnes was a hardworking woman. Each day of the week was spent working endlessly – from putting breakfast on the table in the morning to folding the laundry while helping her children with their homework in the evening and everything in between. Sundays were spent attending mass in the morning and enjoying Bluffton baseball games in the afternoon, where she cheered on her husband, her sons, and eventually her grandsons. There were not many games that she missed at the Bluffton ballfield.

Agnes was a woman of many special talents. When she was not busy cooking for her family and keeping her home tidy, she enjoyed reading, puzzles, sewing, quilting, crocheting, embroidering, gardening, tending to her flower beds, and baking. It would be a rare occurrence if there was not some sort of cookies, bars or dessert on her counter when stopping by for a visit. Her homemade bread and maple twist was a fan favorite from her children and grandchildren, with it being almost impossible to replicate her recipes.

Agnes traveled to Texas, Arizona, Florida, Alaska, Washington D.C., Montana and Rome, but was most content at home surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to fill her home with family, squeezing over 100 people in her living room and kitchen every Christmas. She always made sure everyone was fed, but not before praying and giving thanks to the Lord before taking the first bite. Her home was always filled with music – either on the radio in her kitchen, on her TV, or from her own singing and humming. If there wasn’t music, there was baseball (MN Twins) on the TV or radio.

Agnes was kind, sweet, gentle, and caring. Her Catholic faith was of utmost importance to her. She found comfort in praying the rosary, which she did daily. She was happiest taking care of others, whether it was her husband, children, grandchildren, or other family or friends.

She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers and Mission Group.

Deeply loved, Agnes’ passing will be mourned by her nine sons: Terry (Donna), Rick (Jane), David, Dennis (Laurie), Keith (Jackie), Dale, Brian (Jean), Bruce (Michele), and Kyle (Kari Leonard); her four daughters: Kathleen (Sam) Waln, Lynn (Scott) Putzke, Wendy (Richard) Rankka, and Jennifer Geiser (Patrick Miller, Jr.); 35 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, her brothers Ben (Zerrin) Langer and Leo (Helen) Langer, and her sisters-in-law Mary Langer and Barbara Langer.

Agnes is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents, Joseph and Olivia; brothers, Reinhold, Richard, and Alfred; sisters, Sr. Lydia Langer, Bernadette King, and Irene Corbett; sister-in-law, Isabelle Langer; brothers-in-law, Arlan King and Ron Corbett; daughter-in-law, Janelle; and her grandson, Jacob.
