Funeral Services were held for Ardner Anderson, age 86 of New York Mills, on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Apostolic Lutheran Church in New York Mills with Pastor Nicholas Kandoll officiating. Congregational Hymns were accompanied by Janet Tumberg. Pallbearers were members of the Charles D. Center V.F.W. Post #3289 Honor Guard of New York Mills. Military Honors were provided by Charles D. Center V.F.W. Post #3289. Ardner was laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery, New York Mills. 

Ardner Byron Anderson was born on December 9, 1936 at home in Leaf Lake Township.  His parents were the late Louis and Esther (Lahti) Anderson. Ardner went to Country School and then graduated from the New York Mills High School with the class of 1954. He served Honorably in the United States Navy for 20 years, serving two tours in Vietnam.  Ardner retired to Heinola where he painted, washed, worked on tractors and was the last Mayor of Heinola. 

Ardner was member of the Charles D. Center V.F.W. Post #3289 of New York Mills and was proud to provided Military Honors for his fallen comrades.  He was also a member of the American Legion Post #0456 of Sebeka and the FRA. 

Ardner married Judy Ann Breitenfeldt at the Northwoods Assembly of God Church in Perham.  They made their home in the country.  

On January 10, 2023 Ardner passed away peacefully at Perham Living at 86 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and comrades. Preceding Ardner in death were his parents, Louis and Esther Anderson. 

Ardner is survived by his wife, Judy Anderson; daughters: Krissy and Kelly; grandchildren; step-children: Chris Erickson and Annissa (John) Geltmacher; step-grandchildren; numerous other relatives, comrades and friends.
