Blake Martin Unger was born October 2, 2006, in Wadena, to Randy and Lynn (Carlson) Unger and grew up north of Bluffton.

From a young age, Blake was always on the go—full of energy and enthusiasm for life. He had a deep passion for sports and proudly represented the New York Mills Eagles going to state in football, wrestling, and baseball. His school spirit and charisma earned him the title of Homecoming King. He graduated from New York Mills High School with the class of 2025 on May 23rd.

Blake loved cooking and even more LOVED food. He enjoyed fishing, dirt biking with his dad, and camping with his family—he quickly made friends with every kid at the campground just to share a meal with them.

Blake was kindhearted to all who knew him and a great friend to many. His warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on those around him.

He is survived by his loving parents; brothers, Cameron and Mason and bonus brother/cousin Jake; grandmother, Barbara Carlson and adopted grandfather Terry Geiser; aunts and uncles: Gene Carlson; Dan Carlson; GaVae (Lance) Piner; Rob (Terry) Unger; Tammy (Tony) Unger; Wendy Unger; best friends Joe Mann and Isaac Kawlewski; many cousins; and a host of friends.

Blake was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sharon Unger; grandfathers, Robert Unger and Ronald Carlson; and uncle, Rick Unger.

A life so full of heart and spirit will never be forgotten. May Blake’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
