Glenna Jean (Anderson) Hodgson of New York Mills, passed away from dementia on August 3, 2025 at the age of 76.

Glenna was born on June 11, 1949 in Hillsboro, N.D. to Arvid and Janet (Ziegler) Anderson and grew up on a farm near Arthur, N.D., where she helped her parents feed calves, milk cows, gather eggs and tend the vegetable garden. She graduated from Arthur High School in 1967, where she was elected homecoming queen.

On October 17, 1967, Glenna married Larry Hodgson, also from Arthur. They lived in Valley City, N.D.; and Sebeka and Cambridge, Minn., before moving to New York Mills in 1973. Their marriage was blessed with two children: Angela and Eric.

Glenna worked at Dean’s Country Market in New York Mills for 38 years, so she knew everyone in the community, and was always eager to greet you when you walked in the store. She spent countless hours attending her kids sporting events, was a great baker and cook, and enjoyed an evening fishing trip or boat ride. Recently, she and Larry have spent the winters in Casa Grande, Ariz., where she enjoyed laying by the pool, Friday night dances, bingo and visiting with their many Arizona friends.

Glenna is survived by her husband, Larry; two children Angela (Matthew Rutten) Hodgson, Fargo, N.D., and Eric (Rachael) Hodgson, Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren Haylee (Cory) Crabb, Joley (Cesar) Hinojosa, Jayden Hodgson, Lucas and Sonja Rutten; great-grandchildren Clara, Charlotte and Crosby Crabb; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Wayne Anderson.
