Memorial services were held for Marvin Bauck age 93 of New York Mills, on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in New York Mills, with Pastor Kirk Douglas officiating. Congregational hymns were accompanied by Janell Brakel. Honorary Pallbearers were all of Marvin’s nieces and nephews. Marvin was laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery, New York Mills.

Marvin Theodore Bauck was born on April 11, 1930 in Perham. His parents were the late Theodore W. and Lena (Oelrich) Bauck. Marvin was baptized on April 18, 1930 and confirmed on May 13, 1945 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Perham. He attended country school District #178 from kindergarten to sixth grade, seventh and eighth grade at St. Paul’s School in Perham, then nineth to twelfth grades in New York Mills; graduating with the Class of 1949. After high school Marvin attended Wahpeton School of Science and studied agriculture.

Marvin served in the United States Army from July 21, 1954 to April 20, 1956. He attended missile training school in Texas.

On December 31, 1964 Marvin was united in marriage to Inez Kasma in Sisseton, S.D. Marvin and Inez farmed in rural New York Mills, and he was also employed at Crystal Sugar in Moorhead, Minn. Inez passed away on April 27, 1989.

Marvin was a member of ABC (American Bowling Congress) and Legend Seeds. He also enjoyed visiting over coffee, playing Cribbage, watching sports, deer hunting, playing pull tabs and attended many bowling tournaments.

On October 19, 2023 Marvin passed away at his home at 93 years of age, under the gentle care of Knute Nelson Hospice. Preceding Marvin in death were his parents, Theodore and Lena; wife, Inez; brothers: Vernon (Laurine) Bauck and Kenneth Bauck; sister-in-law, Lillian; niece, Darlene Steinbach; nephew-in-law, Bob Thompson.

Marvin is survived by his brother, Rowland Bauck of New York Mills; nieces and nephews: Donald (Sharon) Bauck of New York Mills; David (Ruth) Bauck of New York Mills; Dyann (Dennis) Tigges of New York Mills; Dolly (Owen) Tumberg of New York Mills; Karen Thompson of New York Mills; Donna (Terry) Geiser of New York Mills; Dayla Ristvedt of Perham; Duane Bauck of New York Mills; Darla (David) Guehna of New York Mills; Darin Bauck of New York Mills; Dinee (Gordy) Dykhoff of Wadena; nephew-in-law, Jim Steinbach of New York Mills; special caregiver Ann Olsen of New York Mills; many great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
