Mayla Fern (Eskuri) Klemek was born October 8, 1957 in Moose Lake, Minnesota to Otto and Ann (Kurkinen) Eskuri, Jr. She was baptized at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Kettle River. She graduated from Moose Lake High School with the class of 1975. After high school, Mayla attended Duluth Vo-Tech and earned a degree in welding.  

Mayla grew up on a farm in Kettle River, Minnesota. She worked for the DNR planting trees and working control burns. Later, she became an aide in a nursing home until she met Tim Klemek of Henning in 1983 while attending Duluth Vo-Tech.  

Mayla and Tim were married on February 14, 1984. They worked together on the family hog farm in Henning until the death of Tim’s dad, Ervin. Mayla and Tim purchased the farm from Tim’s mom. They ran the dairy farm, raising elite Brown Swiss cows, until they retired in June, 2020. Mayla loved flowers and had many beautiful gardens she cared for. She also loved animals, especially her dogs.  

Mayla is survived by her husband, Tim Klemek of Henning;  children: Andrew (Audrey) Klemek of Stillwater and Dr. Jillian (Will) Klemek Herdman of Parkers Prairie; sisters: Louella (Lawrence) Lundin of Cromwell and Sheila (Galen) Vorland of Effie; one brother, Tom Eskuri; one grandchild, Raven; and many other relatives and friends.  

Preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Ann; and brother Archie.
