Michael Dean Patron was born on June 26, 1952, in Wadena. His parents were the late Robert and Alice (Koria) Patron. Mike grew up in Pengilly, Minn., until he was 6 years old, and the Patron Family moved to New York Mills. He was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in New York Mills and graduated from New York Mills High School with the class of 1970.

Mike was contracted to build silos and was then employed with Henry J. Kiser Corp. in Beaulah, N.D. when building the Antelope Valley Gas Plant. Mike enjoyed working for Dynamic Homes where he built basements and completed the finishing work in homes. He owned and operated Mike Patron Construction for many years in New York Mills which was a turnkey operation from making the road in, all the way out to the kitchen cabinets. Mike also plowed snow as well for over 30 years.

Michael, with consent from “The Boys,” married his best friend Jule Frigaard on August 1, 1998, at the Patron Family Farm in rural New York Mills.

On October 15, 2022, Mike passed away peacefully at his home in New York Mills surrounded by his loving family at 70 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert and Alice Patron; sister, Tracey Patron; grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins; father-in-law, James Frigaard.
