Funeral Services were held for Norbert Heidemann on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in New York Mills, with Pastor Kirk Douglas officiating. The hymns were sung by the congregation, accompanied by Janell Brakel. The pallbearers were Jeremy Perry, Andrew Minten, Carter Hudalla, Jeff Johnson, Nikki Johnson, Cody Johnson, Colt Tangen and Jenna Tangen. Norbert was laid to rest in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Long Prairie, Minn.

Norbert August Heidemann was born on September 20, 1940, in Sauk Centre, Minn. His parents were the late Albert and Elva (Minke) Heidemann. Norbert grew up and lived in Browerville, Minnesota. He was united in marriage to Elaine Ida Newmann. Their marriage of 22 years was blessed with four children: Lynn, Brian, Judy and Carol.

Norbert was employed driving truck, hauling grain in Minnesota and Central Bi-Products in Long Prairie, Minn. His main route was Duluth to Minneapolis. He also enjoyed watching westerns, fishing, and watching Molly B Polka Party.

On September 23, 2023, Norbert passed away at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena, at 83 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceding Norbert in death were his parents, Albert and Elva; sister, Jeanette; great-grandson, Loki; wife, ex-Wife, Elaine. 

Norbert is survived by his children: Lynn (Keith) Stoner of Little Falls; Brian (Bobbie) Heidemann of Wadena; Judy (Kyle) Selander of New York Mills; Carol (Brandon) Bernu of New York Mills; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.
