Patricia (Patty) Ann Doll was born on January 15, 1953 at the St. James Hospital in Perham. Her parents were the late Leo V. and Theresa Doll. Patty grew up and resided in the Perham area.  She graduated with the Class of 1971 from Perham High School. She attended Detroit Lakes Technical College and became an LPN and later attended Brainerd Community College and became a Registered Nurse. In her teenage years, she worked as a nurses aide and loved it so much that it determined her occupation in nursing.

She worked at Perham Living in Perham, Eventide Care Center in Fargo and at Lund Boat Company in New York Mills as an Occupational Health Nurse. Patty was also a Parish Nurse. Patty volunteered in many areas of the Catholic Church. She was also a dedicated caregiver for her parents in the last years.

Patty’s joy came from working with people in her church and community. It gave her so much meaning and purpose in her life. Patty spent a lot of time and prayer on her family, nieces and nephews, and she made everyone feel like they were her favorite person.

Patty was a dedicated parishioner and was the helping hand at St. Lawrence Catholic Church of Rush Lake; she was often ministering to people about faith in Jesus Christ and she was a very humble person. Patty was a wonderful aunt to 14 nieces and 14 nephews, along with 43 great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-niece. They have wonderful memories of her kind spirit and fondly remember Patty’s talent for decorating “Patty Cakes.”

Patty is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Theresa Doll; brother, Stephen Doll, and baby niece’s, Kristina and Abby Dahlin.

Patty is survived by her seven siblings: Michael F. (Dorothy) Doll of Perham; Judy (Harry) Dahlin of Wadena; Ronald (Julie) Doll of Perham; Dorothy (David) Carner of Brainerd, Minn.; Elaine (Timothy) Anderson of Dilworth, Minn.; Joan (Mark) Klinnert of Kindred, N.D.; and Joseph (Lori) Doll of Perham; sister-in-law, Paula Doll Johnson of Perham; many other relatives and a host of friends.

Patty’s last words were, “I have Jesus, I have my family, I have my church, and I have my church family, what more could I ask for.”
