Rose Violet Ruikka was born on February 2, 1930 to Walter and Lena Ruikka in New York Mills. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 7, 2026 at the age of 96, after a courageous four year battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Walter, Arvid, Hubert, Irene, Helen, Marcela, and Lorraine.

Surviving Rose are her brothers, Raymond and Clifford Ruikka of Perham.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Karvonen Funeral Home in New York Mills. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
