0Sharon Lee (Peterson) Bauck, age 80, of New York Mills, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Private family services were held.
Sharon Lee Peterson was born on August 12, 1943, in Homestead Township, rural New York Mills, to Harry and Evelyn (Ahlers) Peterson. She was raised in New York Mills and attended country school until graduating with the New York Mills High School class of 1961.
On April 15, 1961, Sharon was united in marriage to Donald Bauck at Trinity Lutheran Church in New York Mills and to this union five children were born.
Sharon worked many jobs in her lifetime but the ones she truly enjoyed were selling home interiors, cleaning professionally, and working in the turkey barns. She enjoyed gardening, lawn care, bird watching, cleaning, hunting, ice fishing, and spearing. Sharon’s favorite holiday was Christmas when she could spend time with her family, take shopping trips and decorate her home for the season.
Deeply loved, Sharon’s passing will be mourned by her husband of 63 years Donald; her sons: Bryan (Colleen) Bauck, Shawn (Hope) Bauck, and Jason Bauck; her seven grandchildren: Jesse (Christa) Bauck, Kaylie (Robert Peterson) Bauck, Brandon Baldwin, Chase Monson, Christopher (LaCher Dolan) Bauck, Shawn Bauck, and Victoria Bauck; her eight great-grandchildren: Kamdyn, Oliver, Hudson, Addax, Raife, Kiera, Christian, and Maiu; sisters-in-law: Mickie Peterson, and Karen Thompson; brother-in-law: James Steinbach; her dog and best companion Sasha; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, her infant child, her daughter Wanda, granddaughter Jenha, siblings: Dorothy, Willy, Stanley and Carol, and her dog Gismo.
Sharon was the most caring and giving person you could ever have the honor of knowing. She always placed others needs above her own.
