Terrance Albert Cavalier was born on January 13, 1956, in Perham, the son of Alex and Florella “Flo” (Thompson) Cavalier. He was raised on the family farm in rural New York Mills, growing up alongside his 13 siblings in a home full of life, laughter, and strong family bonds. He attended New York Mills High School and graduated with the Class of 1974.

Terry was an easygoing man who never had trouble striking up a conversation. He loved talking with people and had a way of making everyone feel comfortable and welcome. He had a deep appreciation for nature and found joy in the simple beauty of flowers, birds, and the changing seasons. He especially enjoyed sitting outside, watching storms roll through, and was always excited to spot the first robin of spring.

Terry will be remembered as a jokester with a quick wit and a playful spirit. He loved to prank those around him and had a natural ability to read people, always knowing when someone needed a laugh.

He was known by many as “Uncle Ter,” a title he carried with pride. His family meant everything to him, and he especially cherished time with his granddaughter, Elsie, whom he absolutely adored. Terry and Elsie shared many special moments together, including making pancakes and simply enjoying time side by side.

Terry is survived by his daughter, Angela (Darin Ness) Cavalier; his granddaughter, Elsie; his sisters, Wanda (Ron) Wallace, Linda (Marty) Engebrit, and Sherry Richards; his brothers, Ronnie (Lavonne) Cavalier, Gordon (Jackie) Cavalier, and Roger Cavalier; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will dearly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Florella “Flo” Cavalier; his sisters, Eloise Schultes, Judy Braddock, Janet Videen, Ruth Cavalier, Sandy Strickland; Sally Cavalier,  his brother, Rodney Cavalier, and his brother-in-law, Pat Richards.
