Vern Snyder, age 62, of Wadena, passed away on January 6, 2025, at CentraCare in St. Cloud, Minn. Funeral Services were held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Deer Creek, with Pastor Donald Wagner officiating. Congregational Hymns were accompanied by Marcus Lueders. Vern was laid to rest at Compton Cemetery, Deer Creek.

Vernon Lee Snyder was born in Wadena, on March 13, 1962, to Nicholas and Esther Snyder. Vern was in the United States Marine Corps between 1980 and 1984. He worked at the post office in Wadena, Minnesota for 26 years. After he retired, he got the job he was made for, he became a New York Mills bus driver.  He loved the kids on his bus very much and they really made him feel loved back.

Vern also loved being a gardener. As much as he loved planting and taking care of his garden, he loved giving away all the things he grew. Equally as much, he enjoyed taking care of his lawn, which he did to perfection. He took care of everything, so his place was always beautiful.

Most of all, Vern was a Dad, a Grandfather (Papa) and a husband.   His favorite thing in life was being with his children and grandchildren. He loved their trips together, their days together and their moments together. He enjoyed teaching them hunting, fishing, going to all their sporting events and generally being around them. Making them laugh by saying smart remarks or joking with them was his true joy in life.

Vernon Snyder was a kind, nice man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Esther (Gedde) Snyder, his brothers Ronald, Peter, Mark, Nick, Roger and his nephew Nick, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his children, Kayla, Courtney (Andy) and Jacob; three grandchildren, Harrison, Dean and Jax; brother: Tom (Deanna); and sister: Carol (Karl).
