Five new plants from Proven Winners for 2026

Looking for something new to enhance your containers or landscape for the upcoming season? The Proven Winners® plant brand has a new portfolio of plants that they are adding to their collection for spring 2026. Proven Winners® is most famous for the introduction of Petunia Vista® Bubblegum® and is a leader in plant introductions. Keep an eye out for some of these plants below and look for them at your favorite local garden center.
Ipomoea Sweet Caroline Medusa™ Black – This new series is the updated version of the Illusion® series for 2026 as those will go away. Leaves don’t flag or fade with the heat of the summer in part sun to sun exposure. Black leaves are palm-shaped, and the plant can spread up to almost 2 ½ feet.
Ipomoea Sweet Caroline Sweetheart Shadowstorm™ – Talk about a unique plant that shows promise with improvement over older variegated options of Ipomoea. This plant has heart shaped leaves with tighter internodes for a compact and tidy appearance. Leaves start green and as they age, the variegation develops. Semi-vigorous habit makes it versatile for all sized containers and landscape opportunities.
Petunia Supertunia Vista® Cool Jazz™ – Huge, upright mounded plants that are blanketed with cool orchid pink flowers. Matches the habit and size of Jazzberry® for mixing possibilities. Excellent heat and humidity tolerance for larger containers and landscape installations.
Calibrachoa Superbells Magic® Double Grapefruit – These double, rose-like blossoms open to a yellow lemon color and shift to soft pink as the light levels increase. It’s screened for Thielaviopsis resistance and can-do part sun to sun. It is perfect for mixing with other plants due to its loose habit.
Begonia Surefire Cascade™ Red – Introducing a different spin on the traditional begonias that have been recently offered. This well-branched canopy of cascading blooms offers a fast-spreading plant for hanging basket applications. Similar color to Surefire® Red and is early to flower. Can handle sun or shade with a spread of almost up to 3 feet.
