0To the Editor,
ALL PROPERTY OWNERS BE AWARE:
If you own any size real property in Otter Tail County, please be advised that our County Commissioners intend to make changes to the “Subdivision Controls Ordinance of Otter Tail County.” The meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 24, 2024 at 7 pm. in the Commissioners’ Room at the Otter Tail County Government Services Center, at 515 West Fir Ave, Fergus Falls, Minnesota. A copy of the proposed ordinance can be found at: https://ottertailcounty.gov/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Subdivision-Controls-Ordinance-PROPOSED-5-22-2024.pdf.
All owners of real property – whether lakeshore, agricultural, residential, etc, of any size need to attend this meeting.
The Commissioners will be amending said Ordinances which will put more restrictions on property owners. The restrictions are not more formalities – they require additional application, fees, and will drastically increase the time and financial cost of even the simplest of real estate transactions. Want to gift or sell 5 acres to your child – with the new proposed Ordinances – it will not be an inexpensive and fast transaction.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, you can submit written testimony prior to the hearing date. Written testimony must be submitted to the County Administrator’s office, 520 West Fir Ave, Fergus Falls, MN 56537 and must be submitted by no later than 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
Remember – more laws, rules, and regulations are being made and we lose our rights little by little.
I think it is time to say enough is enough and start standing up for our rights and our ability to do what we desire with our own property.
Here is your opportunity to be heard. Please attend.
