The VFW Post 3289 Auxiliary meeting was held on November 11 with 10 members present and 2 guests.

The annual inspection was done prior to our meeting by 9th District Auxiliary President, Melissa Krosko. This went well and she complimented our Auxiliary on all the good projects we are involved in.

A thank you was received from the New York Mills Bowling team for our donation and from Roger Pederson and family. Two thank yous were sent out for memorial gifts received.

Donations for the soldier care packages can be dropped off at the Mills Lucky Strikes Lanes in New York Mills through December 1. The Auxiliary will assemble the care packages on 12/6/21 at 1 pm at the bowling alley.

A total of 476 poppies were given out at the Veterans Day Program and  2 Quilts of Valor quilts were presented. (another quilt will be presented at a later date) Local Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen winners were announced at the program and read their essays.

A new member received her membership pin and patch.

A total of 3 Good Job awards were presented.

The Membership dinner on October 24 went well. Alice Anderson won a life membership to National Home.

Approximately 20 people attended the First Responders meal on October 28 at Trinity Church. 

The Auxiliary will participate in the local Tree Festival.

The Auxiliary will partner with the Cultural Center for Project Blue Light.

The book, “The Poppy Lady,” is being donated to the school library.

A card making contest was held at the school for the Americanism program.

The next meeting will be held on December 9 at 6 p.m.
